Fitz's Worst...

Key Votes by Brian Fitzpatrick in the U.S. House of Representatives

The Big Picture

Fitz presents himself as an independent moderate, but his voting record shows a clear pattern:

  • When his vote decides the outcome, he VOTES WITH MAGA LEADERSHIP.

  • ONLY when the outcome is already decided does he vote “independent.”

  • His reputation for moderation is largely political window dressing.

House balance (early 2026):
217 Republicans | 214 Democrats | 1 Independent | 3 Vacancies

Replacing Fitzpatrick with Bob Harvie would move the House closer to a Democratic working majority.

His Record

Epstein Files

Fitz did not initially vote for the discharge petition to release the Epstein files (2025). But he later voted in favor of the Epstein Files Transparency Act only after Trump was forced to reverse his position.

War Powers

H.Con.Res. 38 – War Powers Resolution on Iran (March 2026)

  • Voted AGAINST asserting Congress’s authority to approve military action against Iran, allowing Trump to proceed without clear congressional authorization. Fitz (like Trump) owns this war and its cost in blood and money.

Health Care

Reconciliation Bill / so called “One Big Beautiful Bill” (2025)

  • May 2025: Voted FOR the House version when his vote was decisive.

  • July 2025: Voted AGAINST the final bill when his vote no longer mattered.

  • Consequence: His earlier vote helped allow enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits to expire. Nearly 500,000 Pennsylvanians saw premiums rise 21% on average.

Voting Rights

H.R. 8281 – so called SAVE America Act (2025/2026)
Voted FOR legislation that will make voter registration harder for millions of eligible voters.

  • A PA Real ID would not be acceptable documentation.

  • It would require citizenry documents, such as a passport or birth certificate, to register to vote. This could hurt over 21 million Americans who lack easy access to these documents. Many eligible voters, including young people, married women who have changed their names, and low-income folks, may struggle to provide the required documents.

Reproductive Rights

  • Voted AGAINST the Women’s Health Protection Act (codifying abortion rights).

  • Voted FOR the so-called Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

Education

  • H.R. 4 – so-called “Parents Bill of Rights Act” (March 24, 2023)

  • Voted FOR legislation that could increase book bans and curriculum restrictions.

Immigration

  • Immigration Package (2023)

  • Voted FOR a bill including expedited deportation of unaccompanied children, forcing many asylum seekers to remain in Mexico, and cutting funds to migrant-aid organizations.

The pattern: Fitzpatrick votes with MAGA leadership when his vote matters most.
