Governor Josh Shapiro

Lt. Governor

The Governor is the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces. The governor has a duty to enforce state laws, the power to approve or veto bills passed by the Pennsylvania Legislature, and to convene the legislature for extraordinary sessions.  Pennsylvania governors are restricted to two consecutive terms in office, after which they must wait one term before being eligible to run again.  

The Lieutenant Governor presides in the Pennsylvania State Senate and is first in the line of succession to the governor.

Top accomplishments of the Shapiro/Austin administration include:

 

  • Reopening the I-95 highway in just 12 days,

 

  • Securing the largest increase in public education funding in Pennsylvania's history, 

 

  • Investing in economic development with over $20 billion in private sector investments, 

 

  • Reforming the criminal justice system to support re-entry for individuals,

 

  • Holding the Norfolk Southern company accountable for their actions after their train derailed near the PA border and putting money back in Pennsylvanians’ pockets,

 

  • Signing a major expansion of the PA Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit, helping to make child care more affordable for over 200,000 PA families,

Bob Harvie is currently serving on the Bucks County Board of Supervisors.  

​

 

Bob Harvie is running to beat Brian Fitzpatrick in the November General Election.

A U.S. Representative's primary duties include representing the interests of their specific congressional district, introducing and voting on legislation, and performing constituent services. They serve two-year terms, focusing on local issues, committee work, and conducting oversight of federal agencies. 

Bob Harvie's top accomplishments include:

For 20 years, he was a teacher and chairman of the Social Studies Department at Bucks County Technical High School.

 

In 1999, Harvie served on the Falls Township Planning Commission for two years. 

 

In 2003, he was elected to the Falls Township Board of Supervisors and served as chairman of the Board of Supervisors from 2008 to 2020.

 

In 2020, he was elected to the Board of Bucks County Commissioners. In 2022, he was named chair of the board. Harvie was re-elected to a second term in November 2023 and named Vice Chair and named Chair again in 2025.

 

Community and Environmental Initiatives

  • Alternative Energy Ordinance: Helped write an ordinance to promote environmentally conscious practices among municipalities.

 

  • Sustainability Efforts: Launched multiple environmental initiatives, including hiring the county's first Director of Sustainability.

 

  • Sierra Club Resolution: Supported the adoption of the "Ready for 100" resolution, committing the county to renewable energy goals.

 

Educational Contributions

  • Beyond the Books Program: Initiated a program that brought military veterans into classrooms to share their experiences, enhancing students' understanding of history.

 

Governance and Infrastructure

  • Civility in Government: Promoted a new level of civility and professionalism in local government during his tenure on the Falls Township Board of Supervisors.

Candidates for PA State Legislature

State Representatives are elected to 2 year terms.  Responsibilities include passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes, and voting to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.

 

Tim Hayes’ top accomplishments include:

  • At age 17, Tim enlisted and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for six years.

 

  • At age 21, he was elected as a councilman in 2019 and has served Dublin Borough for six years, now serving as council President.

 

  • Dublin Borough has grown to be one of the primary economic hubs in Bucks County. By the end of this decade, it’s projected to have millions of dollars in private sector investments, welcoming dozens of new businesses and nearly 200 new housing units. 

 

  • As Council President, Tim has helped to eliminate outdated regulations, reduce wasteful spending, make critical investments into Dublin’s police and volunteer fire departments, improve sustainability, and upgrade infrastructure. And he did all of this, WITHOUT raising taxes.

 

  • Tim also works for an environmental advocacy group as their State Policy Manager. He’s spent countless days in Harrisburg in the halls of the Capitol Building advocating for pro-environment, pro-labor legislation. He’s helped to secure millions of dollars for land conservation, water decontamination, clean energy manufacturing and deployment, home weatherization and energy efficiency, and sustainable agriculture.

State Senators are elected to 4 year terms. Responsibilities include passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes, and voting to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.

Steve Santarsiero is running to beat Greg Bankos in the November General Election.

Before becoming a  PA state Senator in Harrisburg, Steve Santarsiero was a:

  • lawyer, 

  • social studies teacher at Bensalem High School, 

  • Lower Makefield township supervisor, and a

  • representative in the PA state house in Harrisburg.

  • He also coached youth baseball for 10 years in the Pennsbury Athletic Association.  

 

PA state representative

  • In the PA state house, Steve was a reformer, writing the bill that would ultimately get adopted as new House rules on keeping politics and government service separate; refusing perks like per diems and a state car. 

  • Steve also led the effort to get PECO to improve the resiliency of its electric grid, vastly reducing the number of power outages in the area.

 

PA Chief Deputy Attorney General for Environmental Protection

  • Steve oversaw the prosecution of environmental crimes and led PA’s efforts to fight the first Trump Administration over proposed rollbacks of important environmental protections.

 

PA state Senator

  • Steve was one of the authors of Kayden’s Law, which was signed into law by Governor Shapiro, that protects children involved in custody hearings to ensure the safety of children in Pennsylvania is paramount.

  • Steve serves on the Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure, Institutional Stability & Innovation, Judiciary, and Rules and Executive Nominations committees, and is the Minority Chair of the State Government Committee. 

  • Steve has fought to keep a dangerous quarry from reopening in East Rockhill 

  • He led a legal battle in Federal Court to maintain a ban on fracking in the Delaware River Basin to protect our drinking water from dangerous chemicals. 

  • Steve has been a vocal advocate for residents in Upper Makefield, after a pipeline leaked into the community’s water.

PA Democratic State Committee

The Democratic State Committee is the governing body of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party and responsible for directing and promoting the guiding principles and core values of the party. They perform party business, in addition to coordinating strategies to elect Democrats up and down the ballot across the Commonwealth.  These State Committee members serve for four years and represent Bucks County Democrats to the PA (State) Democratic Party.
